St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, Southport NC
Welcomes You
Outreach
What Do We Do?
Outreach consists of all St. Philip?s activities directed toward serving people in the congregation, the community and our wider world. It takes forms such as
- Pastoral Care
- The Interchurch Food Bank
- Donations to organizations serving those needing basic life services
- Worldwide disaster relief
- Support for programs of the Diocese of East Carolina and the National Church that provide for church expansion
- Prison ministry
- Hispanic ministry
- Haiti Fund, Inc.
Groups from St. Philip’s travel to New Orleans to help with massive cleanup of homes of people still living in FEMA trailers. Neighborhood groups look to the welfare of their neighbors, providing transportation and visits to those in need. Our young people and their adult advisors travel to Haiti to dig water wells and construct fishponds to serve the water and food needs of desperate people. We also provide meeting space to AA and various counseling groups.
What’s Our Mission?
Outreach at St. Philip’s is our response to the call of our Savior to heed the cries of those in need. Outreach is being the Body of Christ.
How Often and Where Do We Get Together?
